Here's an incredible larger Zuni bolo tie with a heavy gauge silver bolo slide and with an inlay figure of a bighorn sheep. The inlay consists of jet, mother of pearl, yellow mother of pearl, and carved pieces of turquoise. The MOP pieces are hand carved and colored to create the details for the body, face, and horns. In addition to being heavy gauge, the slide has leaves in each corner and hand stamp work across the frame.
The width of the slide tapers from 2 1/4" to 1 3/4". It is 2 3/8" tall.
The inlay section has a width of 1 1/16" to 1 1/4", and is 1 3/8" tall/
The leathers are 4 mm thick, and with the tips, are about 43" long. The silver tips are each 2 1/4" long.
The bolo tie weighs 85 g.
The artist's hallmark is "J Quam Zuni N.M." where the J and Q are conjoined. The artist is Jones Quam a celebrated Zuni artisan. He is a brother to Ralph Quam.
