Here's a magnificent petite concho belt from one of the masters: Harry Morgan. This belt was very likely crafted in the late 1960s, and includes a repousse buckle, 10 scalloped and stamped conchos, and 11 repousse bowties (or butterflies). Beautiful high quality turquoise cabochons with a dark spiderweb matrix were used on the conchos and on the buckle (12 stones total). The hand stamp work across all of the silver pieces is exquisite.
From tip to tip, the belt is about 35 1/2" long. The belt is punched to fit a 29" to 32" waist. Of course, you could punch additional holes or substitute a new leather piece.
The conchos and buckle will fit a 1/2" belt.
The buckle is 2" wide and 1 7/8" tall.
The 11 bowties are about 7/8" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
The 10 conchos are about 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
The turquoise stones are of variable size, but in general are about 1/4" by 3/16".
The belt (as it's pictured) weighs 193 g.
The artist's hallmark is "H. Morgan" for Harry Morgan (d. 2007) a renowned Navajo silversmith.
This belt was acquired from a private collection in Virginia. The prior owner inherited this from her parents.
